helloooooooooooooooooo
so sorry that i have not been updating. i had dance for the whole of last week for today's performance, which i will elaborate more on later. and i had a YOG rehearsal yesterday night which was totally crazy and a complete waste of my time. but we have started having our rehearsals at the float @ marina bay, so we can at least "entertain" ourselves with singapore's skyline.
so as i was saying, today's performance. it was for racial harmony -which i think is tomorrow- and we danced this form of chinese dance called xinjiang dance. people, it is NOT indian dance. i think xinjiang is a country between india and china or something -i don't know- so that's why the song was so heavily influenced with indian vibes. i kind of like the dance steps though. but the costume was just, YUCK, in my opinion. this is probably the worst costume i have ever worn for a chinese dance performance. lemme describe it to you. i can remember it cos it was absolutely hideous and we looked like some kind of halloween princess disaster.
okay, try to picture this - a orange (yes, ORANGE) dress, that is high-waisted. and the top part of it is decorated with giant white swirls. and the bottom half of the dress has RUFFLES. three layers of it, to be exact. and that's not it; there's still more hideous-ness. we had to wear silver pants with silver sequins on it, and the pants were not tight or skin-hugging. yingshan said we looked like aunties going to the markat, and i totally agree with her.and then we had to wear orange socks (also with giant white swirls) that looked like shoes over our dance shoes and the ends of the silver pants. our dance teacher wanted the pants to like "stick out" a little, so it became VERY BAGGY. and that's not it. we had to wear this hat that was also orange with giant white swirls and FEATHERS sticking out at the top. in conclusion, we looked like clowns.
and, as i said earlier, we have started rehearsals at marina bay.
(YYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
although, rehearsals were boring, it was not like the ones we had at ________(insert location-which-i-think-cannot-be-told-or-maybe-it-has-i-don't-know)_____. there was alot of waiting for the other dances and we slacked there most of the time. yesterday we had the whole place to ourselves, but i don't know why another group took most of the stage space from us; leaving us with a 1/10 of the stage. i don't want to elaborate too much so i'm just gonna say we used most of the time waiting. and i had to wake up at 5am+ this morning as i had to report to school at 6.30am for the performance prep. thanks mommy for driving me to school :D oh, and this means that i only had 5 hours of sleep last night as i reached home at 12am last night from rehearsal.
